Says the holy man. Last I checked, a good rope doesn’t do either of those things. What’s going on, here?

Now, I realize that this can look like deus ex machina. And in response to that I am going to promise right here and now that I will never resolve any conflict in this comic with deus ex machina, even if it’s not immediately apparent. Wait it out, man, wait it out.
